Machine learning,
from the foundations.
I study Software Engineering at HU Utrecht and work toward machine learning engineering by exploring the foundations—programming, mathematics, data and how models are evaluated.
Fantasy World
AI Lab.
Fantasy World AI Lab connects my interest in machine learning with the kind of worlds I like creating. It is designed around a small simulation: represent situations as data, establish rule-based behaviour, then test whether models can learn meaningful patterns from it.
The project gives me a practical path from software fundamentals to datasets, model training and evaluation. The aim is an inspectable application with reproducible experiments and clear explanations of where the models succeed or fail.
Build the world.
Set up the workflow, represent the world as data, and run a rule-based simulation that records every decision.
Learn from it.
Baselines first, then models, memory and context, and neural networks, each tested on unseen data.
Measure honestly.
Repeatable experiments, meaningful metrics and honest analysis of the failures as well as the successes.
Alongside it runs a maths track, from statistics and probability through linear algebra to the calculus behind neural networks, studied when the project needs it.
Software Engineering Intern — Tandem-IT
Backend development for HU Utrecht's AI Infrastructure Cluster, intended to support students and researchers running and training AI models on GPU infrastructure. Hands-on exposure to containers, Kubernetes and networking.
Digital Product Passport — digiGO
Backend developer on a Digital Product Passport prototype for the construction supply chain. I built APIs and data integration with the Credenco Business Wallet, using verifiable credentials, signed CO₂ data and iSHARES certificates to control who sees what. Our team placed third of nine.
Board Member & Backend Developer — Groupvibe
Backend development and board responsibility at a social platform with over 50,000 users, combining technical work with strategic planning.
Founder — WebSneller
Helped small businesses improve their online presence. Built DesignAudit, a tool that combines Lighthouse, axe-core and Google Gemini to analyze websites and generate actionable recommendations.
Websites for young creatives — Stichting ZSAlliance
Built and maintained websites for a Zaandam foundation that supports young people through hip-hop, dance and music.
From design
to backend.
I started in graphic design, studied software development at LOI, and now study at HU Utrecht: propedeuse with an 8.2/10 average and Honours Engineering+ work on using AI for learning.
